The upper part of Daguerre´s description of the Daguerreotype from 1839.
Alphonse Giroux made the first manufactured
camera in the world after drawings of Daguerre. Giroux had  a shop and workshop at Rue de Coq-Saint-Honore´ No 7 i Paris.
Drawing from 1839 of the Giroux-Daguerre camera. The focus was obtained by sliding the inner box towards or from the lens. On a mirror held at 45 degrees could the operator view the image on the ground glass.In the front is the brass bound achromat which was made by the Paris optician Charles Chevalier.
